The gameplay of Mr Bean Jump revolves around predicting the direction and speed of crates appearing from both sides of the screen. As the crates approach the landing position, Mr Bean performs a jump to land on the surface of the new crate, thereby creating a stack of increasingly higher crates. The difference lies in the constantly changing speed: some crates slide very slowly, but there are also crates that move so fast that they leave the safe area in just a few blinks.

The increasing tempo makes each turn more engaging. Players need to keep calm and read the movements early to choose the right time to jump. The higher the crate column, the greater the tension, because even a jump off by a few pixels can cause the character to hit the edge of the crate and fall off the screen.
